Action!

I think I need to work on my action shots because Kira is on the move. She's crawling, waving, and generally making a ruckus. One minute she's there...
... the next minute she's here! Seriously, that kid can get around! Thank goodness for baby gates!

Kira and Chet

Connor and Chet were in town yesterday. Kira had a great time playing with her cousin (and with the toy that Baba brought him!), but we had a hard time getting a picture of the two of them. This is the best we could do!

Dickey Chicks

Kira attended her first Dickey Chicks gathering last night. It helped that we were at our house. We had dinner and learned how to make origami cranes... er, sort of. I'm not sure that our cranes were quite right, but we certainly had a good time! We missed Barbara, but everyone else was there. Courtney and Brooksie missed the group picture, but you get the idea. January 13 is the day between Baba and Claire's birthdays so we had a little cake to celebrate!

Snow Day

While those of you up north may scoff at our quarter-inch of snow, we are thrilled here in Atlanta. Usually our meager snowfall doesn't stick; but due to the past freakishly cold week, we actually have some coverage. The best part: Jay is home from school and tending to the child. See evidence below.

Inmate Wamsted

This is how we find Kira after naps these days: sitting up with her hair in her face watching the door.

New Year, New Name

I've decided to rename the blog. The new name is inspired in large part by the book The Urban Homestead by Kelly Coyne and Erik Knutzen. Don't fret; the content (i.e. baby pictures) will remain unchanged. Just consider the new name something I aspire to. Or don't consider it at all and wait for the first installment of Kira 2010. I think it's going to be a cute year...
