Dickey Chicks

Last night the Dickey Chicks gathered at the Dickey Seniors' house. We had a DELICIOUS fall meal of potato chowder, roasted broccoli, ciabatta, and pumpkin cake. Yum! Kira and I had a wonderful time -- no surprise there!
I'm sorry that this picture of Claire and Kira is blurry, but I promised Claire that she would make the blog!

Annie and Brooksie.
Mary Beth hard at work.

Annie letting Kira use her chapstick (which Kira loved).

In the end, Kira wound up watching cartoons with Uncle Jimmy. I'm not sure which one of them enjoyed it more!

From the weekend...

Here's one more from last weekend. Thanks for sharing, Anna!

Paul and Anna and their three kids also made it to Augusta to help Gramma celebrate her 60th. Kira loved playing with their 2.5-year-old Addie. That is an understatement; she LOVED it. Every time Addie walked into Kira's line of vision, you could hear her yell, "ADDIE!" Kira followed Addie everywhere. They even walked around holding hands. I can only hope that Kira will be as sweet to her younger cousins as Addie is to her!

Gramma's 60th Birthday

Gramma (Jay's mom) turned 60 on Thursday, and we went to Augusta for the weekend to help her celebrate. Papa Al and her friends threw her a FABULOUS movie-themed bash on Friday night. I was so impressed by all the decorations and outfits! Gramma dressed up in a "post-feminism noir" complete with hair, make-up, fake tattoo, and water gun! It was amazing! Unfortunately, I didn't get a single picture of it (I know! How could I?!), but hopefully I can steal one from my sister-in-law Anna. On Saturday, Gramma threw a kid-focused party with hotdogs and coloring. As you can infer from the picture, a lot of fun was had! Happy birthday, Gramma! We love you!

Tour Guide Kira

This is another lake photo courtesy of Scruff. Kira LOVED walking up and down these stairs because she could actually hold the lower railing. We spent a lot of time traversing the steps and throwing acorns from the top.

At the Lake

We three Wamsteds traveled up to Lake Seed for a beautiful three-day weekend. We climbed trees, went on some bear hunts, took the boat out a few times... in other words, lived out Kira's wildest dreams. Our friends Anne and Scruff joined us for a night, which was not only super fun but also resulted in some great Kira photos. Thanks for sharing the pictures, Scruff!Kira and Jay are actually IN a tree together above. Kira loved it for a while, but when she said "DOWN" you better be ready to catch her!

Daddy's Little Girl

Today Kira acted like Jay in two distinct ways:
1. She made her play date cry because she played too loudly.
2. While playing harmonica, she toddled over to the piano to play two instruments at once.
Sometimes it's scary how similar those two are!

Monkeying Around

One of the best things about the return of chilly weather is the return of footie pajamas. Add in Kira's new found love for Curious George, and you have a recipe for an adorable moment or two (nothing lasts much longer than that around here).

October Morning

The weather has finally relented here in Georgia, and we are actually getting some fall temperatures. Kira, Eli, and I couldn't stay indoors on such a gorgeous morning.
Last night, Kira learned Eli's favorite game: keep-away/tug-of-war. Kira thinks it's absolutely hilarious. He gets tired of it long before she does.
And, of course, we can't go outside without blowing some bubbles.
Happy October!
