Sunday Breakfast

We went out of town this weekend. It was fun, but we were all in one room, and both kids were just a touch off with their sleeping. And then Kira fell out of bed twice on Friday night. And then someone let her try her first sip of full-caf sweet tea at lunch. And then she took more than a sip when he wasn't watching. It was downhill from there...

Anyways, we decided to make waffles this morning to celebrate getting home to our own beds. This was easily the cutest moment of our weekend. I mean, these kids just really love each other.

In other news, we think that this might be our official last post of Kira in just her underwear. She'll probably still dress that way around the house for a while. We'll just keep it off the internet...

4 Months (and 8 Days)

Height: 26 inches
Weight: 13 pounds, 10 ounces
Head Circumference: 16.25 inches

And yes, for those of you checking your birth charts: the boy is about 85th percentile for height and 15th for weight. Just like his daddy: tall and skinny.

Wait a minute...

First Day of "School"

Ok, Kira's not really in school yet. She's still just going to Parents' Morning Out one morning a week. This was the first day back after a short two week break, and Kira was so excited. We made her teachers some fig jam yesterday and she colored cards for them. So cute! And despite her look in this picture, she actually wanted to take pictures before we left. I'm not sure why she would only give me this scowl, but I still think she's kind of adorable.See the same cutie in the same skirt here in pictures of Kira's first morning ever at Parents' Morning Out. My, she has grown!

Little People and Mega Bloks

Kira's imagination just gets better and better as she gets older. She has recently started using her blocks to build things for her Little People (barns, wagons, stairs, cars, houses, etc.). Below are her Little People lined up and ready to enter their new kitchen in order to make cookies. They really love to make cookies.P.S. I should note that she still gets significant help with the building process. She did not, in fact, build this state-of-the-art kitchen on her own.

1. Jay is back at work after being home all summer. Kira has reminded me every morning that Daddy's at work and she misses him.
2. This little guy rolled over for the first time on Tuesday night (oh, and the second time, and the third time, and the... well, you get the point). No pictures of the rolling, but look how adorable he is.
3. It's fig season here at the homestead. Every time I open the back door, birds, bunnies, and squirrels scatter. They are busy at work eating as many figs as possible. Lucky for them, we need the help! There are more than we can handle!
