The Day After Christmas

One of the great things about Christmas is that long stretches of it are spent much like this:
Off camera, the adults are all in another room in conversation. Amazing, right? The correct set of presents can free up hours of good talking time! On the day after Christmas we took advantage of this effect to collapse with our coffee in the corner of the house, ceding every available inch to the children's various pursuits.
Well, we didn't all retreat. Grampa got pretty caught up into making a fort with Kira. I would say that she roped him in, but that wouldn't quite be true--I'm pretty sure he had as much fun as she did. I regret I didn't take a picture of the final product; suffice to say that it was twice as big and covered in scarves! Happy New Year, Grampa--we love you!
